1. Who is the Scholars Hall program best for?
Scholars Hall is for the student who needs a breakthrough, not just more homework. It is specifically designed for the child who has the potential to excel but is being held back by generic “drilling” or exam anxiety.
We are different because we replace mass tuition with Mental Health-Trained mentorship. By combining MOE & IB Aligned Pedagogy with a 1-to-1 Personalised Learning Plan, we don’t just fix the grades; we fix the confidence behind the grades.
If you are a parent who refuses to choose between your child’s academic success and their mental well-being, Scholars Hall is for you. We prove you can have both.
2. Do you offer trial lessons?
We believe in diagnosis before prescription. That is why, instead of a generic trial class, we provide a Complimentary Learning Consultation (45 mins).
This session is designed to be diagnostic and strategic. Our Mentors will use this time to assess your child’s academic gaps, identify anxiety triggers, and engineer a Personalised Roadmap for their success.
You won’t just “sit in” on a class; you will walk away with a clear strategy for your child’s growth. It is the most effective way for you to experience the Scholars Hall difference before making a commitment.

3. Why is the fee so high compared to normal tuition?
Standard tuition often just pays for someone to mark worksheets. At Scholars Hall, you are investing in an Academic & Mindset Expert.
Our fees reflect the higher standard of our team. Unlike freelance tutors, every Mentor is professionally trained in two areas: Advanced Teaching Methods (to fix grades) and Mental Health Support (to fix confidence).
Our Mentors spend hours analyzing your child’s progress and designing a Personalised Lesson for every single class. You aren’t just paying for the hour in the classroom; you are paying for the strategy that ensures that hour counts.
4. Is this program only for English?
Yes. We currently specialize exclusively in English and Mathematics, as we believe these are the two pillars of a student’s academic foundation.
For English: We go beyond standard tuition to focus on critical analysis, argumentation, and high-level exam strategy.
For Mathematics: We reject rote memorization in favor of teaching “Engineering Logic” and problem-solving resilience.
Both subjects are delivered by our Mentors, ensuring your child builds not just grades, but the confidence and core skills that transfer to all areas of life. We are actively expanding into other subjects; please follow our social media channels for the latest updates.
5. How are the Mentors selected and trained?
We don’t just hire tutors; we hand-pick Mentors. Our selection process is incredibly rigorous—we look for educators who possess Mastery-Level Subject Knowledge combined with high emotional intelligence and natural empathy.
Once selected, every Mentor undergoes our Dual-Track Certification:
- Pedagogy: Training in the “Stamford Classroom” methods to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
- Psychology: Our mandatory Mental Health-Awareness Certification designed specifically for academics. This ensures they are equipped to handle both your child’s grades and their growth.
6. What does “Mental Health-Advocate” mean?
It means our Mentors understand that anxiety is often the barrier to achievement.
They are professionally trained to recognize the “silent signals” of academic stress, exam anxiety, and burnout. While they are not clinical therapists, they are equipped with “Emotional First Aid” techniques to create a psychologically safe space for learning.
This allows them to build your child’s resilience during the lesson and know exactly when to alert parents if deeper professional support is needed. We protect the mind so that the grades can follow.
7. Tell me more about Stamford Classroom. Why is their training important?
Subject mastery is not enough; a Mentor must know how to teach. That is why we partner with Stamford Classroom, a leading pedagogical institute led by highly experienced former MOE teachers.
Their training ensures our Mentors move beyond traditional tutoring to use evidence-based strategies that trigger critical thinking and inquiry. The “Stamford Classroom Certification” is your assurance that your child’s Mentor is not just a Math or English expert, but a highly skilled professional educator equipped to unlock potential using the most effective modern methodologies.
8. What happens after I book a consultation for my child?
You will receive a WhatsApp notification upon booking. Once confirmed, our team immediately begins preparing for your session. This ensures that when we meet for your 45-minute consultation, we aren’t starting from scratch—we are ready to discuss specific solutions and a Personalized Roadmap for your child’s success. It is a confidential, deep-dive conversation with no obligation attached.
9. How often are the sessions, and how long is the program?
We view mentorship as a strategic journey, not a quick fix. To see real shifts in both grades and confidence, we require a minimum commitment of one school term.
Standard Frequency: Most students thrive with one 90-minute session per week. This allows enough depth to cover core content and mental resilience strategies.
For Senior Students (A-Level / IB): Given the complexity of the syllabus, we highly recommend 2-hour sessions. This additional time ensures we can engineer solutions for “heavyweight” topics without rushing or causing cognitive overload.
10. What happens if a session needs to be cancelled or rescheduled?
Consistency is key to mentorship. However, we understand that emergencies happen.
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to reschedule a session without penalty. This respect for time allows our Mentors—who dedicate significant hours to pre-lesson planning—to adjust their schedules.
Policy: Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be considered a “Late Cancellation” and are billable at the full session rate. This ensures we protect the professional time of our Mentors.
11. Are the package fees refundable?
Our Scholars Hall packages are sold as a dedicated commitment of time between the Mentor and student and are therefore non-refundable. This policy ensures we can maintain the highest quality of mentorship and scheduling integrity for all our families. In exceptional circumstances, the remaining value of a package may be transferable, subject to approval.
12. What are the fees for the Scholars Hall program?
Scholars Hall is a premium, all-inclusive mentorship service. Our rates are structured to reflect the Dual-Track Certification of our team (Subject Mastery + Mental Health Certification) and the extensive behind-the-scenes planning that goes into every session.
13. Where do the sessions take place?
We believe that a “Safe Space” starts in a familiar environment. To minimize anxiety and maximize focus, we bring the mentorship to you.
All sessions are conducted 1-to-1, physically in the comfort of your home. This allows your child to learn in their safest environment, free from the distractions and social pressures of a crowded tuition center.
14. When is payment due?
To secure your preferred time slot and allow your Mentor to complete the Pre-Lesson Planning, payment must be made at least 24 hours prior to the session.
This confirms your booking and triggers the preparation process for your child’s customized lesson materials.
15. What is the Priority Waitlist?
The Priority Waitlist is for families interested in Mentors for subjects that we are expanding to next. By joining, you will be the first to be notified when a new Scholar joins us in your subject of interest, giving you priority access to slots before they are announced to the general public.
16. Who can I contact for a change of schedule?
We believe in direct access. To ensure the fastest response, please communicate scheduling changes directly with your assigned Mentor via WhatsApp.
Since our Mentors manage their own dedicated students, they have the autonomy to work out a reschedule slot that fits your family’s rhythm without the delay of going through a middleman.
For general administrative support, billing, or technical issues, our team is always available via WhatsApp at +65 8091 7278 or [email protected].
17. How many 90-minute sessions are in each package?
The packages are based on total mentorship hours to provide flexibility. However, based on the standard 90-minute session length:
- The Kickstarter Package (8 hours) equates to approximately five 90-minute sessions, with some flexible time remaining for check-ins or a focused review.
- The Mentorship Package (24 hours) provides sixteen 90-minute sessions, perfect for a deep-dive over a full school term.
18. How does the 2-hour session structure enhance the Scholars Hall session?
While 90 minutes is the standard, we’ve found that a 2-hour session allows for a truly immersive experience, especially for older students tackling complex A-Level or IB subjects. It provides ample time to deconstruct a topic, practice new skills, and consolidate learning without feeling rushed, leading to more significant breakthroughs.
19. What if we don’t use all the hours in a package by the end of the term?
Our packages are designed to be used within the academic term to ensure consistent progress. We work closely with families to schedule all sessions, but should there be remaining hours due to exceptional circumstances, they can be rolled over to the next term, subject to approval.
20. Can I upgrade from the Kickstarter to the Mentorship Package later?
Absolutely. If you start with the Kickstarter Package and feel your child would benefit from a longer-term journey, you can upgrade. We will simply apply your initial investment towards the cost of the larger package.
21. How fast can a student improve their O-Level English grade?
With a strategic approach focusing on “Exam Logic” rather than content memorization, Scholars Hall has documented cases of students improving from a C5 to an A1 in as little as one month.
22. Does Scholars Hall help with University Admissions?
Yes. Beyond standard tuition, Scholars Hall offers mentorship that has helped students secure acceptance into Ivy League institutions like Brown University.
23. What makes Scholars Hall different from other tuition centers?
Scholars Hall focuses on “1:1 Personalized Learning Plan.” Students report that lessons are engaging and focused on meeting specific exam standards (like Cambridge) rather than rote memorization.
