Understanding the Scholars Hall Methodology
Scholars Hall is for the student who needs a breakthrough, not just more homework. It is specifically designed for the child who has the potential to excel but is being held back by generic “drilling” or exam anxiety.
We are different because we replace mass tuition with Mental Health-Trained mentorship. By combining MOE & IB Aligned Pedagogy with a 1-to-1 Personalised Learning Plan, we don’t just fix the grades; we fix the confidence behind the grades.
If you are a parent who refuses to choose between your child’s academic success and their mental well-being, Scholars Hall is for you. We prove you can have both.
No, we provide a 45-minute Complimentary Consultation in place of a generic trial lesson. We believe in “diagnosis before prescription.”
This session allows our Mentor to identify your child’s specific academic gaps, assess their emotional wellbeing, and develop a Personalised Learning Plan for their success.
Standard tuition often just pays for someone to mark worksheets. At Scholars Hall, you are investing in an Academic & Mindset Expert.
Our fees reflect the higher standard of our team. Unlike freelance tutors, every Mentor is professionally trained in two areas: Advanced Teaching Methods (to fix grades) and Mental Health Support (to fix confidence).
Our Mentors spend hours analysing your child’s progress and designing a Personalised Lesson for every single class. You aren’t just paying for the hour in the classroom; you are paying for the strategy that ensures that hour counts.
We currently specialise exclusively in English and Mathematics, as we believe these are the two pillars of a student’s academic foundation.
For English: We go beyond standard tuition to focus on critical analysis, argumentation, and high-level exam strategy.
For Mathematics: We reject rote memorisation in favor of teaching “Engineering Logic” and problem-solving resilience.
Both subjects are delivered by our Mentors, ensuring your child builds not just grades, but the confidence and core skills that transfer to all areas of life. We are actively expanding into other subjects; please follow our social media channels for the latest updates.
Scholars Hall Mentors are vetted experts who complete a mandatory Dual-Track Certification in pedagogy and mental health awareness.
This programme pairs Stamford Classroom evidence-based training with specialised emotional support. We hand-pick educators with the subject mastery and emotional intelligence required to unlock the potential of unique learners.
It means our Mentors understand that anxiety is often the barrier to achievement.
They are professionally trained to recognise the “silent signals” of academic stress, exam anxiety, and burnout. While they are not clinical therapists, they are equipped with “Emotional First Aid” techniques to create a psychologically safe space for learning.
This allows them to build your child’s resilience during the lesson and know exactly when to alert parents if deeper professional support is needed. We protect the mind so that the grades can follow.
Stamford Classroom is a leading pedagogical institute led by experienced former MOE teachers.
All Scholars Hall Mentors are Stamford Classroom Certified, meaning they are trained in evidence-based strategies that promote critical thinking and inquiry-based learning — well beyond what a standard tutor provides.
You will receive a WhatsApp notification upon booking. Once confirmed, our team immediately begins preparing for your session. This ensures that when we meet for your 45-minute consultation, we aren’t starting from scratch—we are ready to discuss specific solutions and a Personalised Learning Plan for your child’s success. It is a confidential, deep-dive conversation with no obligation attached.
Most students attend one 90-minute session per week, with a minimum commitment of one school term required to ensure a sustainable shift in both grades and confidence. We view mentorship as a strategic journey rather than a “quick fix.”
For senior students (A-Level and IB), we recommend 2-hour sessions to deconstruct complex, “heavyweight” topics and engineer solutions without causing cognitive overload.
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to reschedule a session, with cancellations made after this window billable at the full rate.
This policy respects the intensive professional time our Mentors dedicate to bespoke pre-lesson planning. By providing timely notice, you allow our specialists to maintain the structural integrity of your child’s programme and ensure their academic momentum remains uninterrupted.
To protect our mentors and ensure uninterrupted lessons for all families, we do not conduct in-person sessions if a student shows active, contagious symptoms (such as a high fever, flu, or persistent coughing and sneezing). If your child is unwell before a lesson, please choose one of these three options:
Switch to Online: If your child feels well enough to learn but is still contagious, the lesson will seamlessly move to our live digital classroom at the scheduled time to keep their momentum going.
Mask Up for Recovery: If they are no longer infectious but have mild, trailing symptoms (like an occasional sniffle), a medical-grade mask must be worn for the entire 1-to-1 session.
Emergency Reschedule: If they are too sick to study, notify your mentor via your dedicated WhatsApp group chat immediately. While standard changes require 24 hours’ notice, we handle true medical emergencies pragmatically to protect everyone’s health.
We will always do our best to find a makeup slot. However, because our mentors maintain strictly capped rosters to ensure teaching quality, all replacements are subject to mentor availability and schedule capacity. If a mutually agreeable time cannot be found within the current term block, we will work with you to provide a fair alternative learning solution.
No, Scholars Hall packages are non-refundable as they represent a dedicated commitment of time and strategic resources between the Mentor and the student.
This policy ensures we can maintain the highest standard of mentorship and scheduling integrity for all our students. In exceptional circumstances, the remaining value of a package may be transferable, subject to approval.
Scholars Hall fees are based on your child’s personal learning plan and the specific support they need. As a premium service, our rates reflect that our mentors are specialists trained in both their subjects and mental health support.
This cost also covers the hours our mentors spend planning each lesson specifically for your child before they even meet. To get an exact rate, we recommend booking a free 45-minute complimentary consultation so we can understand your child’s situation first.
All sessions take place 1-to-1 in the comfort of your home, ensuring your child learns in their safest and most familiar environment. By bringing the lesson to you, we remove the social pressures and distractions often found in a busy tuition centre. This allows your child to focus entirely on their progress in the space where they feel most relaxed and confident.
Payment must be made at least 24 hours before each session to secure your time slot and allow your Mentor to begin their pre-lesson planning.
This confirms your booking and ensures all customised materials are prepared specifically for your child before the session starts. By completing payment in advance, you allow our mentor to focus entirely on developing the most effective lesson for your child’s needs.
For scheduling changes, contact your assigned Mentor directly via the dedicated WhatsApp group chat for the fastest response.

The Kickstarter Package (8 hours) provides approximately five 90-minute sessions with time remaining for check-ins.
The Mentorship Package (24 hours) provides sixteen 90-minute sessions — ideal for a full school term.
The 2-hour session enhances the Scholars Hall experience by providing the extra time required to deconstruct complex subjects and consolidate learning without causing cognitive overload.
While 90 minutes is our standard, this extended format is ideal for senior students tackling high-level IB or A-Level topics. It allows for a truly immersive experience where mentors and students can practice new skills and secure breakthroughs without the pressure of a ticking clock.
Our packages are designed to be used within the academic term to ensure consistent progress. We work closely with families to schedule all sessions, but should there be remaining hours due to exceptional circumstances, they can be rolled over to the next term, subject to approval.
Yes, you can upgrade to the full Mentorship Package at any time by applying your initial payment towards the cost of the larger programme. If you decide to continue after the Kickstarter sessions, we make the transition seamless. We simply update your account to the full-term rate so your child’s academic progress stays on track without any interruption.
Students can improve their O-Level English results by up to four grades in as little as one month by focusing on “Exam Logic” rather than rote memorisation. Scholars Hall has documented cases of students jumping from a C5 to an A1 by teaching them how to deconstruct exam questions strategically.
This approach unblocks their existing potential, allowing their true ability to reflect in their final marks in a very short timeframe.
Yes. Beyond standard tuition, Scholars Hall offers mentorship that has helped students secure acceptance into Ivy League institutions like Brown University.
Scholars Hall differs from traditional tuition centres by replacing repetitive drilling with 1-to-1 personalised mentorship led by mental health-trained educators. Unlike standard centres that rely on rote memorisation, we use a bespoke learning roadmap approach.
This ensures lessons are engaging and specifically designed to meet elite exam standards, such as Cambridge, while protecting the student’s confidence and mental well-being.
The Priority Waitlist ensures that every neurodivergent student is matched with a mentor who has the specific clinical training and subject expertise for their unique profile. Because emotional safety is the precursor to academic performance, we never compromise on the “match.” This wait allows us to maintain a high-integrity environment where students with ADHD, ASD, or Dyslexia can thrive without the pressure of a generic classroom speed.
Wait times vary depending on the student’s specific learning needs and the complexity of their academic roadmap. A student requiring specialised ADHD-focused JC Math may have a different timeline than a Primary student seeking support for Dysgraphia. Joining the Priority Waitlist ensures you are notified the moment a slot becomes available that fits your child’s cognitive profile.
We provide neuro-affirming support for students with ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia, and Dysgraphia, as well as those navigating intense exam anxiety. Our mentors are mental health-trained specialists who adapt the syllabus to the child’s executive functioning needs. We focus on building the “Foundation of Safety” before moving into structural subject mastery.
Yes, we actively align our mentorship with the support provided by OTs, Speech Therapists, and Educational Psychologists. Scholars Hall acts as the “academic bridge,” ensuring that the strategies your child learns in therapy are successfully integrated into their English or Math studies.
