We constantly measure our children’s grades. It is time we measure their academic confidence.
Participate in the 2026 Academic Confidence Check-In & Scholarship Ballot for a fully funded, bespoke term of Scholars Hall Mentorship.
While traditional education often moves at the speed of the syllabus, we move at the speed of the student. We are here to help capable learners rebuild their academic confidence and rediscover their potential.
Every day, parents tell us the exact same story: “My child is brilliant at home, but the moment they sit for a timed exam, they blank out.” Traditional education often dismisses this as a lack of preparation or focus.
Through our work with students, we have found that what looks like careless mistakes or a lack of effort is often a profound collapse in academic confidence. When a student feels overwhelmed or afraid of making mistakes under the pressure of the syllabus, high levels of stress and anxiety can make it significantly harder for them to retrieve what they know, concentrate, or express themselves clearly.
We are conducting this questionnaire to measure the disconnect between a student’s true capability at home and their performance under exam pressure, particularly for those with unique learning profiles (like ADHD or ASD) navigating the traditional Singaporean education system.
The 2026 Academic Confidence Check-In & Scholarship Ballot
We recognise that many families possess a profound need for mentorship, which is why we refuse to subjectively rank whose child needs it most. From the pool of eligible families who complete this questionnaire, one family will be selected at random via a fair ballot. The drawn family will receive a fully funded, bespoke term of 1:1 English Mentorship, designed from the ground up to support your child’s academic confidence.
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
We recognise that we are asking you to share sensitive information about your child’s academic challenges. Please be assured that your family’s questionnaire responses are kept strictly confidential. Your data will only be accessed by our internal administration team to facilitate this ballot and will never be shared, sold, or published without your explicit consent.
Confidentiality
Your individual responses are kept strictly confidential. We do not sell or share your responses with third parties.
How We Use Your Responses
This is an internal Scholars Hall initiative to better understand the challenges families face — it is not a formal academic research study. We use trends from this questionnaire, in aggregated form, to help shape how we support students going forward.
Who Can Access Your Responses
Only a small internal team at Scholars Hall reviews individual questionnaire responses, for the purposes described here, to confirm baseline eligibility, and to run the scholarship ballot.
Will You Be Contacted?
We will only reach out if your family is selected for the Scholars Hall Wellness Scholarship, or if you have separately asked us to get in touch. Completing this questionnaire does not sign you up for marketing communications.
If We Share Insights Publicly
If we ever share insights from this questionnaire publicly, such as in an article, we will only do so in aggregated and anonymised form. No individual or identifiable responses will be shared.
This questionnaire is handled in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). If you have any questions about how your data is handled before you begin, you are welcome to reach out to us first.
Terms & Conditions
1.The Promoter
This questionnaire and scholarship ballot (the “Promotion”) is organised by Scholars Hall Pte. Ltd., UEN 202324923K, with its registered business address at 160 Robinson Road, #14-04 SBF Center, S068914 (the “Promoter”).
2.Questionnaire & Scholarship Period
The 2026 Academic Confidence Check-In & Scholarship Ballot is open for submissions from 1 – 31 August 2026 (the “Application Period”). The Scholars Hall Wellness Scholarship recipient will be drawn and confirmed by 7 September 2026. The Promoter reserves the right to extend the Questionnaire Period or the draw date, with reasonable notice published on the Promoter’s official website and social media channels.
3.Who Can Participate in the Questionnaire
The Questionnaire is open to parents or legal guardians who are Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents, or Singapore residents holding a valid pass entitling them to reside in Singapore, and who have a child currently enrolled in a Singapore MOE or IB-curriculum school (or an equivalent recognised learning pathway). Entrants must be aged 18 years or older. Only one (1) questionnaire submission is permitted per family or household; duplicate submissions from the same family will be consolidated or disqualified at the Promoter’s discretion.
4.Eligibility for the Scholarship Ballot
Completing the Questionnaire enters the family into the Scholarship ballot, provided the submission meets the following baseline criteria:
- Complete: All required questions are answered in full.
- Genuine Need: The submission reflects a student facing genuine academic challenges, academic anxiety, or navigating an unsupported learning profile.
- Commitment: The family and student indicate a clear willingness to commit to the duration of the mentorship programme if selected.
- Original: One submission per family; duplicated, templated, or copied responses across multiple submissions will be disqualified.
The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to exclude any submission it reasonably believes to be incomplete, frivolous, fraudulent, or submitted primarily to game the process rather than to reflect an authentic family circumstance.
5.How the Scholarship Recipient Is Selected (The Ballot Process)
Because we recognise that many families possess a genuine and profound need for this support, the Promoter will not subjectively rank or judge which child “deserves” it most. Instead, the Scholars Hall Wellness Scholarship is awarded via a fair and transparent random ballot.
Every family that successfully submits a questionnaire meeting the baseline eligibility criteria (see Clause 4) will receive exactly one (1) entry into the ballot. The winning entry will be selected at random by a designated representative of the Promoter.
6.Selection Criteria
Because this is a random ballot, there is no subjective “Selection Panel,” and no submission is graded or scored against another. Provided the baseline criteria (genuine academic challenge, willingness to commit, and questionnaire completion) are met, every eligible family has an equal opportunity to be selected. The intention of this method is to provide an equitable opportunity to our community without compounding the pressures of traditional merit-based evaluations.
7.What the Scholarship Includes
The Scholars Hall Academic Confidence Check-In & Scholarship Ballot consists of one (1) fully funded, bespoke term of 1:1 English Mentorship with a Scholars Hall mentor, matched to the recipient child’s level and needs. The scope, format, and duration of the term will be confirmed directly with the selected family and is subject to mentor availability. The Scholarship covers mentorship fees only and does not extend to unrelated goods, services, or subjects unless otherwise agreed by the Promoter in writing.
8.Notification of the Selected Family
The selected family will be notified by phone and/or email using the contact details provided in the Questionnaire, within 7 business days of the random draw. If the selected family cannot be reached within this period, the Promoter reserves the right to draw an alternate family from the eligible pool at random.
9.Families Not Selected
Due to the random nature of the ballot and the high volume of anticipated responses, the Promoter will not individually notify families who are not drawn. Families who indicate interest in Scholars Hall’s other programmes within their questionnaire may be contacted separately about those, but only where they have explicitly opted in to be contacted.
10.Non-Transferable, No Cash Alternative
The Scholarship is provided for the named child only and is non-transferable to another child, family member, or third party. It cannot be exchanged, in whole or in part, for cash, other services, or a tuition credit of equivalent value.
11.Confidentiality & Use of Questionnaire Data
Individual Questionnaire responses are kept strictly confidential and are not sold or shared with third parties. Only a small internal team at the Promoter has access to individual responses, for the purposes of administering this Promotion. Where the Promoter shares insights from this Questionnaire publicly (for example, in an article or report), this will be done using aggregated and anonymised data only — no individual or identifiable response will be published without separate, explicit consent from that family.
12.PDPA Consent
By completing the Questionnaire, entrants consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal data (including name, contact details, and Questionnaire responses) by the Promoter for the purposes of administering this Promotion, verifying eligibility, conducting the random draw, and fulfilling the Scholarship, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and the Promoter’s Privacy Policy, available at https://scholarshall.sg/policies/. Data collected for this Questionnaire will not be used for unrelated marketing purposes without separate consent.
13.Use of Recipient’s Name/Image (Optional, With Consent)
The Promoter may request the selected family’s consent to share their name, photograph, or a short testimonial for purposes relating to this Promotion. This consent is entirely optional, is requested separately after the ballot is drawn, and a family’s decision not to give this consent has no effect on their entitlement to the Scholarship.
14.Fraud, Misrepresentation, and Withdrawal
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any submission, and to withdraw the Scholarship even after it has been awarded, where it reasonably believes the family has provided false, exaggerated, or materially misleading information in their Questionnaire response to bypass baseline eligibility.
15.Decisions Are Final
The Promoter’s conduct of the random draw and its assessment of baseline eligibility is final, conclusive, and binding. No correspondence, appeals, or legal claims will be entertained.
16.Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Promotion shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
